WHY DID JESUS DIE FOR YOU?

Did you know that Jesus' death on the cross was prophesied hundreds of years before. One of the examples of scripture is shown below.

Isaiah 53:3-6 The following has been expanded by Steven James to make the scripture clearer:

"Verse 3. He (Jesus) is despised, hated, and rejected by men, A man afflicted (distressed, suffering) and tormented with pains (physical, mental and spiritual), and knowing (suffering) sickness, And we ignore Him and hide our face from Him (Jesus), He is despised, and we do not have any regard or care for Him".

Verse 4. "Definitely, our sicknesses, anxieties (stress), fears and diseases he took onto Himself, And our physical and mental pains he took onto Himself (away from ourselves), And we have considered Him (Jesus) struck down and plagued, Beaten and slaughtered by God and punished".

Verse 5. "And he is pierced (holes made in Jesus) for our rebellion and sin, Beaten into pieces for our perversity, sin, mischief; The punishment due to us was put on Him so we could have His peace (The Hebrew meaning of "peace" is Shalom. Meaning completeness, welfare, peace, completeness (in number) safety, soundness in body and mind, health, prosperity, quietness, tranquillity, contentment, friendship of human relationships and with God especially in covenant relationship, safety from plague and peace from war). [Jesus was punished so that we are blessed in every way]. And by his wealds, wounds, bruises there is healing available to us".

Verse 6. "All of us like sheep have wandered away from God, Each of us have gone our own way separate way from God’s ways, And God put on Jesus, the punishment due to us of our sin, perversion and faults."

Please read the Holy Bible, and go to the book of Genesis chapter 1 verses 1-29 here to see the full explanation. For now, here is an overview; In the beginning of creation God made humans called Adam and Eve (Adam means man and Eve means life-giver) perfect without any evil in them. He said that they could eat from any tree in the Garden of Eden except for the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Unfortunately, one of God’s created angels called Lucifer (the Devil), had previously rebelled against Him. Lucifer (meaning “the light bearer”) also chose to lead Adam and Eve into rebellion against God by tempting them to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

When Adam and Eve did this, they lost their innocence and were now accustomed to know what was right and wrong. The Spirit of God who lived in them departed, since they had rejected Him by disobeying Him. Now man was living apart from God, and the presence of God was no longer in them. As they became evil, God had to remove them from the Garden of Eden where they lived, since they also had access to eat the fruit on the Tree of Life, which meant they could have lived for ever with evil in them. This would have meant that we would never be free from evil (sin), since it would keep going down each generation.

God allowed mankind to experience death, so that one day the evil in us could be eradicated. God’s solution for evil in us was to personally appear on the Earth as Human, be tempted by the Devil and not succumb to his enticements in the way that Adam the first man did. His name was Jesus (Yahshua in Hebrew language). He came as God-man, lived a perfect life and did no wrong. He did good and healed everyone who came to Him, and freed them of spiritual oppression.

Jesus died on a cross for us and took on all the evil (sin) that we have done, so that we can live a life free of evil within us. When Jesus took our evil, He gave us His perfection instead. I call this the great exchange. That is Good News! Now, if we have perfection within us, we have physical, emotional, mental and healing of our lives. Finally, because we are clean inside, God can send His Spirit, to live in us again. That is more good news!

Jesus didn’t just die on the cross and be buried, but He actually came back alive on the third day after His death. And now, He is alive and back in Heaven, where we can talk to him and have a relationship with Him, His Father and The Holy Spirit. If you believe this, you can be cleansed of sin in your life. You must first desire to turn away (repent) from not believing in Jesus.

If you would like to do this and start a relationship with God now, please pray the following verses in orange writing, and mean them from your heart. The writing in the brackets are scriptures that come from the Holy Bible, which uphold what you pray. You can check them first or after you pray. The first number is the chapter, then the other numbers after the colon are the verses.

Here is the prayer (read out the writing in orange):

“Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God (John 3:16-18), who died on the cross for my wrong doings. (John 19:17) I also believe that you were raised back to life on the third day by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 10:9)

“I believe that you came to Earth as a human being, even though you are God” (1 John 4:3)

“I turn away (repent) from all the bad things I do (Mark 1:15), and from trying to do good deeds to earn points to get me into heaven. I now believe that doing good deeds will not get me into heaven.” (Hebrews 9:14).

Allow time to confess your sins to God in your heart or better still out loud. “I confess the bad things that I have done to You Jesus and to others, and ask You to forgive me” (1 John 1:9).

“I now choose to forgive others for all the bad things they have done to me, so that You, Lord God, can fully forgive me”
(Matthew 6:14-15). Give yourself as much time as you need to do this.

“Father God, wash my mind and soul clean by the blood of Jesus,
(Hebrews 9:14) and send me the gift of your Holy Spirit, to live inside me” (Acts 2:38).

This next part is needed to be filled with the Holy Spirit Please wait for a while for the Holy Spirit to come in and experience His love, peace and joy (John 3:3-5). Wait for the Holy Spirit to come and fill you up (don’t rush away from this moment and be aware of what is happening). “Holy Spirit, my Lord and my God, please come into my heart to live inside of me forever. In Jesus’ name, amen”.

You are now on your salvation journey and will need to be water baptised by another born-again Christian minister quickly. You will also need teaching about God, and how you can follow Jesus. When you go to join any Church congregation, ask them about their understanding of the Holy Trinity (this is the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit). If they do not recognise all of the three persons of the Holy Trinity individually, and deny any one person such as the Lord Jesus as being God, then you should leave and find a proper church congregation. You can easily know a false church because the word “Holy Trinity” will invoke a strong negative reaction. Enjoy your new life and the presence of the Holy Spirit in you.
